Due to minimal staffing in all departments and the wide possibilities of leave needs, the college does not have a personal leave without pay policy. Therefore, needs for personal leave without pay must be dealt with on an individual basis. Personal leave of absence without pay may be granted with the approval of the immediate supervisor (the VPAA/Dean for all faculty) and the appropriate senior administrator. Excessive need for personal leave of absence or an extended personal leave of absence from the job may jeopardize employment relations and so this privilege should be exercised sparingly. In order that the immediate supervisor is given consideration for his/her workload responsibilities, it is necessary that such need for personal time away from the job be discussed as early as possible. The college reserves the right to deny a personal leave of absence if it is detrimental to the business needs of the college or places an undue burden on the college.
